10 random things about me

  • I am a real introvert (although if you know me I can be very chatty) and really need time alone to get my batteries recharged.

  • When I was 16, I started a special notebook where I would paste imagery from Première magazine and write reviews of the films I had seen. My mum threw it away when she moved out and I am still mad about it. My favourite directors include Pedro Almodovar, Quentin Tarantino and Emir Kusturica. And I have watched Amélie countless times.

  • With my best high school buddy, I used to sing The Cranberries all day long and to laugh out loud. It was a good time!

  • I always struggled with shyness. With time, I had to take control over it, but I’m sure I could still turn bright red in an embarrassing situation.

  • I have a PhD in science but I always knew I was an artist. Holding a brush and applying colour to a canvas is surely one of the greatest pleasures of life I know!

  • Perfectionism is one of my biggest enemy (and I am a very demanding person to live with). My children are now teaching me how to let it go and embrace the beautiful chaos of life.

  • No TV, no drugs (or very exceptionally), no school for my kids, no processed food (as little as possible)…that’s me!

  • After falling in love with beautiful Kyoto in 2015 and going back there twice, we started a little business called Slow Kyoto (www.slowkyoto.com) aimed at promoting Japanese culture and sharing our love for the city.

  • We love traveling and we hope to share our curiosity and respect for other cultures, and our love for nature with our children.

  • To live is to choose was the phrase engraved in our wedding rings (we both lost ours). We truly believe that whatever our situation, we always have the choice.
